This is just a quick blog entry, it's 4am, i'm going to drive to the coast in 3 hours, I still have something to do, and yet, I feel this quick retrospective is really important.
1. finish classesI've finally finished all of my classes at the
School of Design. I still haven't graduated on the count of me having to pass my final 8 exams. This is also a number one on my new years resolution for the upcoming year.
2. start working as a TAOfficially or not, I did started to work this year, October 1st as a TA at the School of Design. I'm helping Ian Borcic with the Introduction to Interactive Design which has proven to be more difficult and fun than suspected.
3. do some big workI've managed to work directly for some big clients this year - including Studena and T-com. Most of my work is really outsourced from different studios and agencies, and being able to directly for the people at Podravka and T-com was great. I'm really proud of the finished product, and you can check out the
Studena website.
4. do some small workBeing able to do a pitch for a new vineyard was really fun. I was reminded to the all the beautiful reasons that got me into graphic design in the first place. There was more small work like this, and I hope I'll be able to show it on the website soon.
5. travelAs you can see on my
Flickr account, I did some serious traveling this year. I'm very proud with the no-plan-no-reservation trip to provence, where my girl and me took the car, the book and the compass and did some 3,000+ km. Will do again.
6. make a videoI finally entered a contest. Late somewhat, but none the less. The contest was Vimeo&Justice - What I did great in 2008. The video was shot, edited and finalized in less than 20hours and can be viewed on my
vimeo page. I've also realized that spending time on Vimeo is more fun and educative than beeing on other social networks.
7. show your workBesides all of the people visiting my folio&blog, I've had the privilege of having my work exhibited at three different events this year. First at the ZGRAF, than Magdalena, and than at the 0708 Croatian Design. I've had 3 work selected and exhibited (and one finalist as well) - none of the work is shown in my portfolio (why is that?).
8. gadgets (where's the verb?)I got an iPhone for christmas (tnx T). I've bought a camera, a videocamera, a gps, a laptop, and realized there's nothing wrong with that.
9. search for what is importantsome things and priorities don't change. The really important things don't change, while, in constant search for something, we try to realize what those things are.
